Location
Easy Hall sits in the parish of St. Joseph, on the northeast side of the island, about seven miles from Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. The property itself is over 6 acres in area. There is easy access to and from Grantley Adams International Airport and the west coast.
This estate is truly exceptional among luxury properties. Surrounded by botanical gardens, which are cultivated and tended by its full-time staff, and also by a six-foot-high coral wall, with a security system second to none, Easy Hall is the perfect location for seclusion and privacy. Originally a plantation, the building was restored over a period of ten years in which no expense was spared, forming it into a completely self-sustaining property. The original architectural style was maintained while incorporating more modern amenities, and materials from all over the world were used in its construction, including famous Vermont slate, Canadian maple, and other choice materials such as mahogany wood.
Hand-crafted Elegance
As Easy Hall has its own staff of masons, carpenters and craftsmen, all furnishings, trusses, doors and other structural elements were constructed on-site from the finest materials. The studies feature furniture worked in mahogany, the kitchen a large chopping block in Canadian maple. Each room's doors and window trimming are in mahogany, as well, crafted toward a soft, warm feel.
Security
For anyone who may choose to reside there, or any company that may choose to invest there, security is important. Guests and residents have the assurance of a full-time security staff as well as a state-of-the-art electronic security system. A six-foot coral wall, as well as bougainvillea, surround the property completely.
There are five entrances to the property. Two are main gates, each leading to separate, unconnected entry yards. One gate accommodates vehicles and pedestrians, leading to the main house (possibly the main entrance of a resort property); the second continues on to another set of drives which lead to the garages. The drives are all paved in coral.
A complete kennel provides housing for trained dogs to provide even more security.
Weather Protection
The entire property has been reinforced to withstand all kinds of natural disasters that may occur in the Atlantic. The roofing on each building, unlike most, will not tear off under extreme winds. Extensive, efficient irrigation assures no standing water will ever remain on the property, even after the heaviest of storms. Such exhaustive precautions assure that an investment in this property will not be washed away by nature.
Self-Sustaining
Easy Hall is completely self-sustaining. With its own sustainable back up system for electricity (via a 150 KVA, 50 Hz, 3-phase prime Caterpillar generator), a comprehensive 'sub category' sewage treatment system, and the capability to catch and recycle up to 86,000 gallons of rainwater, this former plantation need never be quitted.
Gardens and Grounds
Paths in coral stone lead visitors through the exotic gardens tended and shaped by the on-site staff. A gazebo offers respite from a walk through the gardens, or a quiet place to retreat for longer moments, and a swing seat--also designed by the staff of Easy Hall, of course--affords views into the garden, or out, to the countryside. Some of the gardens also blend into a jungle area, where the beehives are located.
Should a resident be interested in trying his hand at gardening among some of these rare, indigenous and beautiful flowers, there is a nursery with full facilities. The staff uses these to regenerate the flora of Easy Hall's gardens from year to year. The drainage and irrigation systems extend to the gardens and also serve to properly water the plant life. At 900 feet above sea level, the average rainfall is higher than normal, allowing these gardens to flourish.
